The Interview

Thank you so much for joining us today! Tell us a little bit about yourself. What is your backstory?

Ravi Davda : Thanks for having me! I worked in corporate banking after graduating, and then one day, I gave it up to become a personal trainer simply because I fell in love with health and fitness! After this, I decided I wanted a business where I could travel and work at the same time. Since I had some experience in marketing previously, I decided a marketing agency would be the best fit. That’s how Rockstar Marketing was born.

In your opinion, what makes your company stand out? Any examples?

Ravi Davda : Our focus on putting the customer first, always. The truth is, the money I earn is less important than the value I bring to each and every client relationship. We don’t cut corners and put the customer at the heart of everything.

What are the TOP 5 mistakes people make when starting a new business? Please share advice/examples for all of them.

Ravi Davda : I’ve been an entrepreneur for over 6 years now. In that time, I’ve made plenty of mistakes. I’ve also spoken to tons of business owners, both established and aspiring. For me, the one common mistake that I’ve seen is that at the start, there’s not enough focus on making sales. New entrepreneurs often have that fear that they’re new, they need a website, they need a proper process in place for their clients’ onboarding, they need contracts, and they need everything else in place and to be 100% perfect.

Whilst all of this is important, so is making sales. Without revenue, your business cannot survive. You can also work on perfecting the process whilst you onboard new clients and make money and everything doesn’t need to be 100% perfect beforehand. It will all work out when you need it to. Sales will make or break your business so focus on this if you’re a new business owner.
