Shri Ganeshram : Shri Ganeshram – Founder of Awning.com and serial entrepreneur. Dropped out of MIT to pursue entrepreneurship.
In your opinion, what makes your company stand out? Any examples?
Shri Ganeshram : Awning.com is the only one-stop shop for real estate investing – offering investors tools and services to find, analyze, buy, furnish, and manage short-term and long-term rentals.
What are the TOP 5 mistakes people make when starting a new business? Please share advice/examples for all of them.
Shri Ganeshram : One mistake many people make when starting a business is not speaking to customers and potential customers. It’s easy to be right in an echo chamber, but unless someone is willing to pay for what you are making, there is no business.
One mistake people make when starting a business is pursuing too many ideas. With a lack of focus, nothing gets built or tested to the best of your abilities and the business does not succeed.
One mistake people make when starting a business is not exercising fiscal discipline. One dollar spent could result in the loss of $1, or the gain of $100. When you invest your money in the business wisely you can grow it for more opportunities. If you just spend the money, then your business will no longer exist when you run out of money to spend.
