Can you tell us about your background and how you got started in your industry?

Marlon van Horck : My background is primarily in people management and recruiting, with over 20 years of experience in senior positions at companies like eBay, PayPal, and Apple. I’ve always been passionate about helping companies find and hire the best talent, and I saw an opportunity to make the process more efficient and effective with the development of FunnelRecruit. So in 2019, I founded FunnelRecruit with the goal of providing a streamlined, cost-effective, and socially responsible approach to recruitment.

Can you share a recent success or accomplishment that you’re proud of, either personally or for your company?

Marlon van Horck : Absolutely, one of the most rewarding aspects of FunnelRecruit is the positive impact we’re able to make on people’s lives. Recently, we worked with a single mother who was looking for ways to make an additional income while still being able to take care of her family. She joined us as a recruiter and she was able to successfully fill multiple positions from the comfort of her own home. It’s stories like this that make all the hard work worthwhile, and we’re constantly striving to find new ways to help people succeed in their careers and achieve their personal goals.

In your opinion, what are the most significant changes that AI will bring to the business landscape over the next 5-10 years, and how can entrepreneurs prepare for these changes?

Marlon van Horck : I see and believe that AI will change the business landscape on several tasks. Think about Automation on repetitive tasks, Personalization (analysing large amounts of data) and cyber security. AI can help working more efficiently.

In the recruitment industry AI could handle job descriptions, creating relevant interview questions.

How do you see AI changing the way businesses operate, particularly in terms of customer service and experience, and what strategies can entrepreneurs use to leverage this technology effectively?

Marlon van Horck : AI powered chatbots, who are able to function 24/7 freeing up human agents to focus on more complex issues.

There is growing concern that AI may replace jobs that are currently performed by humans. What are your thoughts on this, and how can businesses and entrepreneurs ensure that they are creating jobs that are complementary to, rather than competitive with, AI?

Marlon van Horck : Businesses need to embrace AI as a tool to enhance human capabilities, rather than a replacement for humans. By doing so, they can create new and innovative roles that require human skills, while also improving efficiency and productivity.

What are some examples of businesses that are currently using AI in innovative and impactful ways, and how can entrepreneurs learn from these examples to drive growth and success in their own businesses?

Marlon van Horck : Netflix, Amazon, IBM, Tesla and some financial institutions using AI to enhance their customers experience and reduce costs at the same time. Thinking about Netflix, they are using AI as a tool to show relevant content to their users. We are also thinking how we can use AI in the recruitment industry.
