The Interview

Thank you so much for joining us today! Tell us a little bit about yourself. What is your backstory?

David Zimmerman : I started my own company, Reliable Acorn LLC, about 7 years ago so I can focus on providing the best quality service to the clients we can help the most. Over that time we’ve generated billions of dollars in revenue for those clients.

How do you ensure effective communication and collaboration among remote team members? Can you share any specific tools or practices that have been particularly effective for your organization?

David Zimmerman : While we use Trello and Google Workspace for productivity tools, the most important part is having clearly set (and measurable) goals for every employee as well as regular check-ins on the progress of those goals.

Maintaining work-life balance can be challenging in a remote work environment. What strategies do you recommend for remote employees to create boundaries between work and personal life? How can organizations support their employees in achieving a healthy work-life balance?

David Zimmerman : Make sure to set expectations on availability of employees, so they can plan their lives. That might be as simple as “9-5, Monday through Friday” or it could be more flexible such as a shared calendar with times of availability blocked-out.
