Why Asset Protection LLC plans before a threat appears
Blaire Solace is a spokesperson for Asset Protection LLC, which provides guidance on asset protection, trusts, offshore structuring and business ownership structures. The conversation explores how the firm attracts clients, why it favors custom planning, and how early preparation and compliance shape its work.
Plan before a dispute or threat emerges, and treat compliance as part of the structure rather than an afterthought. Solace also cautions against secrecy promises and off-the-shelf packages.
What’s the short story of how your business started, and what makes it genuinely different from the other options your customers have?
Asset Protection LLC was built on one belief: protecting wealth is not reserved for corporations, it is a right for every individual. What makes us different is focus and method. Asset protection is our sole focus. We don’t use templates and we don’t sell products. Every plan is designed from scratch around the client’s assets, risks and goals, and we manage the whole process, from structure design and entity formation to banking introductions, ongoing compliance and trustee coordination.
How did you win your first customers, and where does most of your new business come from today?
Our work begins with a conversation, not a sales pitch. Every engagement starts with a private, no-obligation consultation where we review the client’s position and exposure before recommending anything. Today, most new clients find us through our educational content and by contacting us directly through our website, often before any dispute has started.
What’s one decision that changed the direction of your business, and one mistake that taught you the most?
The decision that defines us is committing to asset protection as our only focus, with custom planning instead of off-the-shelf packages. The lesson that shapes how we work today is about timing. Protection built in calm conditions holds up far better than protection built during a dispute, so we now encourage every client to plan before a threat appears.
What has changed in your industry or in what your customers expect over the last couple of years, and how have you adapted?
Clients now expect more openness and more rigor. Banks and regulators ask more questions, and cross-border reporting is stricter, so the conversation has moved from secrecy to legal privacy. We adapted by building compliance into every plan, explaining the legal limits plainly, and choosing jurisdictions for their legal track records, not their marketing.
If you were advising someone starting out in your industry today, what would you tell them to do first, and what would you tell them to ignore?
Start by learning the legal limits and working with qualified counsel in each jurisdiction. Build protection early, before any threat exists. Ignore promises of anything “untouchable”, secrecy gimmicks and cookie-cutter packages. Real protection comes from careful design, honest advice and ongoing maintenance. This is general information, not legal advice.
