The Interview

Thank you so much for joining us today! Tell us a little bit about yourself. What is your backstory?

Tim Connon : I grew up in Florida selling security systems with my father during summers when school was out. From an early age my dad acquainted me with the world of sales and marketing. When I grew up my dad had become a licensed life insurance agent so I followed in his foot steps. After this I worked with a few agencies but eventually started my own which is now my full time business.

As we embark on the journey into 2024, what are your hopes and expectations for the year ahead, both personally and professionally?

Tim Connon : Personally I hope to get a new home within this year that is more suitable for my business and family needs. Now concerning professionally my biggest goal is to double our website traffic using SEO techniques to increase our brand visibility and generate more leads. My other hope is to begin experimenting with TikTok ads and generate leads for my business through that platform.

How do you see technological advancements influencing your field or industry in the coming year, and what opportunities or challenges do they present?

Tim Connon : AI is changing everything to do with marketing for life insurance and final expense insurance. We now have AI video generates that will put together broll videos based on how you prompt it. Our tool for this is Flex Clip and it helps us generate ads within minutes for our marketing. In addition to this audio AI chatbots are already being used by agents in my industry to underwrite prospects for the agent so all the agent has to do is help the prospect complete the application. These tools present the opportunity to automate some of the most important tasks like creating ads for marketing and asking clients health questions for field underwriting. The challenges are making sure they are always working properly. You could wind up with a chatbot glitching and repeating itself on the phone to a prospect. This alerts the prospect to an AI bot underwriting them and they could hang up resulting in a lost sale. When it comes to Flex Clip the challenges are that it does not always throw together a perfect video. This is why the human element is needed to overcome these hiccups.

As a leader or aspiring leader, what role do you believe diversity, equity, and inclusion will play in shaping the future of your industry, and how are you working to promote these values within your sphere of influence?

Tim Connon : Diversity plays a huge role because all clients are different ages, race, gender etc. This means more bilingual spanish speaking agents are needed or other languages depending on the prospects. I believe more diverse agents will rise up to become salesmen resulting in them resonating with prospects of their same race and language. We actively work to promote these values by listing our jobs as including bilingual for various languages.
