We had the pleasure of speaking with Robin Dimond, CEO and Founder of Fifth & Cor, a marketing and innovation company that prioritizes the human experience in all aspects of their work. With over 15 years of industry experience, Robin has built a successful team and achieved client success stories by infusing sensory experiences and heart into their projects. In our interview, Robin shares how Fifth & Cor embraces remote work and maintains effective communication and collaboration among their team members. Regular virtual team meetings, both one-on-one and group sessions, project management platforms, and instant messaging apps are utilized to ensure everyone is aligned and communication flows seamlessly. However, Robin believes that fostering a sense of community and connection is equally important in remote work environments. Thank you so much for joining us today! Tell us a little bit about yourself. What is your backstory?

Robin Dimond : Robin Dimond is the CEO and Founder of Fifth & Cor, a marketing & innovation company. Dimond brings over 15 years of experience that has led to a successful team and client success stories over the years. Passionate about the human experience, Dimond strives to bring sensory experiences and the heart back into all her team’s work, thus comes the name – Fifth (five senses) & Cor (Latin for heart).

How do you ensure effective communication and collaboration among remote team members? Can you share any specific tools or practices that have been particularly effective for your organization?

Robin Dimond : Regular virtual team meetings, both one-on-one and group sessions, project management platforms, and instant messaging apps ensure everyone is on the same page and encourage open communication.

Maintaining work-life balance can be challenging in a remote work environment. What strategies do you recommend for remote employees to create boundaries between work and personal life? How can organizations support their employees in achieving a healthy work-life balance?

Robin Dimond : To foster a sense of community and connection among our remote employees, we plan monthly virtual happy hours and holiday celebrations. Additionally, we utilize communication channels beyond work-related topics to create a more relaxed and friendly atmosphere, such as a general channel where they can chat about anything or share their hobbies and interests.
