The Interview
Thank you so much for joining us today! Tell us a little bit about yourself. What is your backstory?
Elice Max : My journey into marketing began in 2013, when I joined L’Oreal as a marketing specialist. After working I realized that I had the potential to achieve much more in life, and this thought gave birth to what we now know as EMUcoupon. I worked as a fulltime writer, focusing on technology and marketing as my niche while working on EMUcoupon.
Could you please share a specific crisis situation you’ve faced as a leader and walk us through the strategies you employed to navigate through it successfully? What were the key decisions and actions you took, and what were the outcomes or lessons learned from that experience?
Elice Max : We faced a big dip in productivity during the pandemic, so much so that we were going in the red even though our sales were not suffering. When the lockdown hit, workplaces had to close down and work switch to online and the lack of a proper office environment and supervision lead to a decline in productivity. To navigate through this successfully, I integrated software project management into the workplace, provided them with flexible working hours and adopted a hybrid working environment after the lockdown. This allowed the company to get more done during the day, save up on costs and saved everyone time to focus on work. This taught me that adapting to the current situation is necessary so that various aspects of the company stay up to date and improve in efficiency.
From your observations, what common mistakes or pitfalls have you seen leaders fall into during a crisis?
Elice Max : Not keeping the big picture in mind. Many leaders’ point of view becomes myopic during a crisis, seeking only the solution of the current problem, without keeping factors like the aftermath and how it will affect the revenue and their employees in the long term in mind.
Leaders Perception would like to thank Elice Max and EMUcoupon for the time dedicated to completing this interview and sharing their valuable insights with our readers!
