Thank you so much for joining us today! Tell us a little bit about yourself. What is your backstory?
Vadivelu sudamani : am the founder and Search Engine Specialist @ Designing With Me, I help business owners to rank their websites and blogs in search engines for better reach. We also have a dedicated team to support in Website Development and other verticals of Digital Marketing.
I have a decade of experience in the service Industry.
I love to engage with startups, mentoring and helping them to grow better.
In your opinion, what makes your company stand out? Any examples?
Vadivelu sudamani : We always focus on making visibility in an organic way, it is always a safer side of Promotions.
If a Brand comes for Digital Marketing, we don’t design any Campaigns immediately, first we make the website revamped to a better standard if required we will change from visiting cards, flyers and everything, then focus on blogs and local SEO, then slowly, we will move to Social Media Handling. This formula makes us stay unique.
What are the TOP 5 mistakes people make when starting a new business? Please share advice/examples for all of them.
Vadivelu sudamani : My insights on top 5 mistakes people make when starting a new business
1.Underestimating the Financial plans
Be clear in setting up your financial plans for your new business for atleast 12 months. The wrong plan squeezes not only the business, but also your savings and investments.
2. Balancing the Marketing Strategy from Beginning
Remember, there is two way of marketing, Organic and Paid.
Organic means word of mouth, Networking, Local SEO, etc., people know that it will take some time, but many newbies forget this and focus only on paid advertisement to get instant results. Due to some financial crises, when they want to do organic work, they will have no time to sustain the business till the organic way works.
3.Not giving freedom to your team to try new things
Each Business is different, what works well for me doesn’t work for you. The only way to reach the right strategy is to let yourself try new things, and never worry about something which doesn’t work. This is important, the one thing which works today is not permanent, with the fast-growing digital world that will not last longer than a year. So giving the freedom for the team to try new things always places you and your business in the right position.
4.Learn from Failure
Remember that many successful entrepreneurs failed in their first attempts but came back to push them high after studying what went wrong and improving.
5.Not everyone is good at everything
There is a famous saying, “Not everyone is good at everything, but everyone is good at something”, so don’t try to do everything by yourself as if you are perfect in all, identify and play to your strength, and let the team members do the rest, monitoring and supporting them is the best thing you can do.
