The AI Reality Check
Leetforce rolls back AI sales and keeps it on content
Hammad Tariq is a Python developer at Leetforce, a business that automates repetitive work with AI agents. His team uses AI where it clearly saves time, but backs off when the software starts adding cost or weakening direct customer contact.
The clearest use case is not always the one that should be automated. Leetforce has kept AI for content production, but pulled it out of sales because B2B buyers still respond better to personal communication and human judgment.
What’s the quick origin story of your brand, and what makes your product or positioning genuinely different from other options in your niche?
What we do today comes from a strong focus on helping businesses automate repetitive tasks with AI agents. This minimizes unnecessary workload on teams so they can spend more time on creative and innovative thinking that contributes to strategic growth. The key thing that differentiates us is that we focus on the customer more than just selling the product. We tend to introduce AI only where it actually makes sense and avoid unnecessary usage where it just serves to spike API bills. This helps us introduce strategic automation that actually boosts efficiency and accuracy without driving costs out of control.
Where does most of your new business come from today, and where do you wish it came from?
After more than 6 years in business, most of our work comes from referrals and word of mouth, though a small proportion of clients comes from social media platforms. Search engine traffic is relatively low, but it yields high conversions. Honestly, I feel like this is a great sales channel. However, as consumer behavior shifts towards AI search rather than traditional search engines, we are trying to set up an AI-driven sales funnel as well.
What’s one thing you’ve actually handed over to AI in the last year, and one thing you tried it on and went back to doing the human way?
We have offloaded a significant amount of social media content generation from our team and actively use AI for it. Whether it’s LinkedIn posts, Instagram reels, or images, it all comes from AI. At the same time, when we tried to automate our sales process with AI, we had to roll back for obvious reasons. People use AI to make decisions on simple daily purchases, but reputable businesses tend to rely on personalized communication when it comes to B2B deals and negotiations. AI can give us good ideas and quick research, but it cannot and should not make final decisions for any business. That factor alone reduces AI conversion rates, making it cost a lot more than a sales rep. To sum it up: AI is great for general, broader use cases, but costly and inefficient for 1-on-1 experiences.
Have you noticed a change in how customers find you or what they already know before they reach out? Is anyone arriving through AI assistants like ChatGPT yet?
Well, yeah, of course. People who reach out to me usually have already done targeted research about us with generative models. People do arrive from generative models sometimes, and they ask us about certain things those models came up with assumptions about our work that sometimes turn out to be surprisingly accurate.
If you were advising someone in your industry on all of this for the next 12 months, what would you tell them to actually do, and what would you tell them to ignore?
You must understand exactly where AI will be helpful and where it’s just a waste of resources. You should definitely try new things and experiment with new models as they launch day by day, but you should never trust AI blindly. Even if you’re delegating tasks to AI, make sure you have SOPs for using it and for controlling what information it handles and how.
