The AI Reality Check

A-Case is trying to win more customers on its own website

Mohammad Shayan leads SEO and content at A-Case, a business built around premium phone cases that stay slim and practical. The company is now balancing marketplace traffic with a push to bring more customers directly to its own site, while paying close attention to how AI search is changing discovery.

The takeaway

AI is already useful for research, ideas and faster content work, but the final brand message still stays human. The bigger shift is on the customer side: people are arriving better informed and comparing materials, features and brands before they make contact.

01

What’s the quick origin story of your brand, and what makes your product or positioning genuinely different from other options in your niche?

A-Case started with the idea of making premium phone cases that still feel slim and practical. We focus on better materials, clean designs and small details that make the product feel more considered.

02

Where does most of your new business come from today, and where do you wish it came from?

Most of our business comes from marketplaces, Google and social media. We would like to grow more through our own website and have more customers discover A-Case directly.

03

What’s one thing you’ve actually handed over to AI in the last year, and one thing you tried it on and went back to doing the human way?

We use AI a lot for research, ideas and helping us work faster with content. But we still prefer to handle the final brand messaging and creative decisions ourselves because that needs a more human feel.

04

Have you noticed a change in how customers find you or what they already know before they reach out? Is anyone arriving through AI assistants like ChatGPT yet?

Customers seem to do much more research before buying now. They compare materials, features and brands before they reach us. We are also starting to pay more attention to how A-Case appears in AI search using GEO strategies and analyzing AI question answers and sources and assistants.

05

If you were advising someone in your industry on all of this for the next 12 months, what would you tell them to actually do, and what would you tell them to ignore?

I would use AI to save time on research and repetitive work but not rely on it for everything. Focus on having a good product, clear information, strong SEO, GEO and useful content. I would ignore the idea that every new AI tool needs to become part of your business.
