How Jeannette Musset built Healthcierge Medical around personal care
Jeannette Musset is the founder of Healthcierge Medical, which provides personalized integrative medicine focused on women’s health, hormone optimization, weight management and healthy aging. The conversation covers how online discovery and patient referrals brought in patients, and why marketing, personal access and deliberate use of time matter alongside clinical care.
Excellent care alone does not ensure that customers will find a business. Musset’s experience points to the value of defining who you want to reach, investing in marketing and building trust through consistent personal attention.
What’s the short story of how your business started, and what makes it genuinely different from the other options your customers have?
I started Healthcierge Medical because I wanted to offer a higher level of personalized care. I believe good medicine means understanding the whole person, including how culture, lifestyle, and environment influence health. We go beyond routine lab work with more comprehensive testing, biological age tracking, and advanced longevity services. Most importantly, we focus on quality of care, not keeping patients coming back for visits they don’t need.
How did you win your first customers, and where does most of your new business come from today?
My first patient found me online. Today, most of my new patients come through referrals from existing patients. I believe that says a lot about the relationships we’ve built and the trust patients place in us.
What’s one decision that changed the direction of your business, and one mistake that taught you the most?
One of my biggest turning points was realizing I needed to be intentional about where I spent my time and who I was trying to reach. I stopped attending networking groups that didn’t connect me with my ideal clients and invested in a mastermind with other successful business owners.
My biggest mistake was underestimating marketing. I thought I could open a clinic, provide excellent care, and patients would naturally find me. I quickly learned that running a business is much harder than people talk about. It takes resilience, constant learning, and a lot of work behind the scenes.
What has changed in your industry or in what your customers expect over the last couple of years, and how have you adapted?
Patients are becoming more educated, digitally connected, and interested in taking a proactive approach to their health. We’ve adapted by incorporating online shopping on our website, advanced testing, biological age tracking, whole-body MRI options, and emerging longevity therapies. Technology can provide information, but it cannot replace the relationship, clinical judgment, and personal connection of a doctor who truly knows the patient. We also make ourselves accessible between visits without charging for every message or question, patients can text us anytime they want. That level of accessibility and personal attention matters.
If you were advising someone starting out in your industry today, what would you tell them to do first, and what would you tell them to ignore?
Take marketing seriously from day one. Know exactly who your ideal customer is and how you will consistently reach them. Be active on social media, build the right relationships, and be intentional about where you invest your time. Set boundaries, even with family and friends. Not everyone will understand or support your vision, and that’s okay. Ignore the naysayers, trust yourself, and don’t be afraid to dream big.
